ABOUT THE LAB:
The laboratory was founded in July of 1999. It quickly established itself for the consistency and high-end work that you would expect for a small quality-oriented lab.
Mark, the owner started the lab when he was only 21 years young and had already worked at a wide range of laboratories, starting out in a high-production lab, going to a high-priced, low-production lab, and then managing a large, high-production laboratory. His experience included the entire spectrum of laboratory quality and production.
During the time he was a manager of a large lab, one thing became very clear, the amount of people he had to oversee was far more than time would allow. While quality control was part of his protocol, he was having to fix the work of the labs top technicians in order to not lose major accounts. This was not part of his work description. The limitation of consistency and quality became obvious in all large laboratories, making it abundantly clear that this is an unfixable issue and that large laboratories can never compete in quality to small labs.
He focused his attention on detail instead of production. To have the highest precision, he kept on top of the newest technology which quickly became top priority.
In 2018, Confi-dental partnered with a leading edge company and became one of the 1st beta-testers of a brand new technology that was able to mill dentures with a precision that traditional processing could never compete with and that the industry had never heard of before. After 1.5 years of testing, the process had been verified and was ready to launch to the rest of the industry. Not too long after, 3-D printing came along also which was quickly adopted as well. But not without its share of issues. With removables, small issues aren’t so small. The tricky part is that one issue could be the problem of the software, the 3-D printing, curing, the milling setup, or especially, the designer. Each company would gladly point the finger at the other. This also became very clear working with the biggest scanner company in the world, even their design teams had unfixable major issues. The solution was evident, small, quality-based laboratories were the future.
